"Staff edits were still logging to the recent updates queue, even when there was no edit."
I know you had addressed the issue before, but the problem still persists. |

This was actually a different error. The time stamp generated for some of the album release dates is an hour off what it should be, so it was logging the unchanged date as an edit. I put some code in to check for that, so it should be fixed.

My bad, I realize what happened. I didn't see that it was a "View" log I was looking at, not an "Edit" log. Stupid me.

0.7.3
- Fixed bug which caused release date to be an hour off when editing - Wrote some code to get around the slight difference in datestamps - Reworked reprint management to eliminate some irregularities. Now only certain fields are editible in the child albums, and the parents edits are propogated to the children. - Added album name and cat num to title in Gallery - changed Dojin to Doujin - While uploading scans, you can now enter a credit and creditlink if you choose. |

I'm getting the following error while trying to submit a new album:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_real_escape_stringashes() in /home/gigablah/www.vgmdb.net/audio/vgmdb-albums-submit.php on line 167 C'mon line 167, get your act together. |

Okay, should be fixed. Give it a try now.

Fixed, thanks.
Also, this isn't a bug, but I don't think it warrants its own thread. Would it be possible to give a Caption to tracklist? Some albums have titled discs (RHCP's Stadium Arcadium comes to mind, although not VGM). I'm adding an album that could take advantage of such a feature. In the same order of ideas, captions between tracks would be good too. Though not essential for me to survive in this cruel world... err whatever.
I'm thinking about bemani albums, like GuitarFreaks. Or albums regrouping more than one game on the same disc. Chudah's Corner uses that kind of caption. |

Disc titles shouldn't be hard, an extra field in the database would do it. Section titles might be slightly more complicated, I'll think about it.

It might require another table. Also, we'll have to think about how the user would submit the info.
0.7.4 - Removed Notes field from reprint submission form - Major overhaul of SQL data sanitizing (most issues of the past 2 days arose from this) - Hid the edit menus from guests so that googlebots can't find them. - Fixed alphabetical display of gallery scans. - Fixed "added date" on scan display page - Replaced access to Username with Userid in Just Added section (username should probably be deleted from all tables.) - Abbreviated platform list in Album Display. |

I'm for retaining usernames. I put them there in the first place to prevent joins with the user table, which could potentially get huge.
Plus, we managed to retain submission and editing credit through our site move because we had username fields to match user IDs. |

I can see there are some advantages, though I don't think we ever Left Join the username table with the album/tracklist/scans tables. We potentially could when we do the stats page, but my thoughts for that are to limit it to the top 10 names for each stat, so we'd end up making 10 queries in a loop to the Username table instead.
Also, people change their usernames (though we could disallow it.) I'll admit that renumbering userids was a pain. I did it manually for collections, where there wasn't a username field, so I had to look up userIDs on Gamingforce. |

A little suggestion from me:
You could add Mini-CDs to the Media Formats, a lot of singles and of course also some VGM is released this way (usually 80mm). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_CD it's a normal CD afterall, but maybe it's worth to be included. |

I'll have to think about mini (8-cm) CD, as it's a pretty common format.
0.8.1 - Album rating system implemented. - Site meta tags updated. - Fixed a couple more bugs related to the sanitization. |

I am agree with kami68k.. i'd love to search for "singles" but it's not possible at this time since it's not a category, they are counted as "official release".
The rating system is a nice feature. Since it's implemented.. now.. What about a "Browse By.. ratings" ? Or you could add a search option with ratings ? Another suggestion for the site, is a little button on top of columns, to Sort answers in ascending or descending order (without using the search option).. I don't know if you see what i mean, for exemple let's take the whole "A" section, you see titles by Catalog or By Titles, and you can click to choose how to display, but it will always be in Descending order.. what about reversing the answers fastly? ex: button to switch from "A history of unreal music ---> Azel ~ Panzer.." , "Azel ~ Panzer.. --> A history.." Oh and another thing.. what about a browse by.. "Release Type" ? For now there's is no way to browse for a single category (since results in the search options are limited to 100 answers). Let's say i want to see All (and only) Doujins for now, how could you do it? Thanks for the hard work SS and the rest of the Staff of course. |

You can browse by release type when you go to the "Advanced Search" Page, select a type and press search. Though only the first 100 results will be displayed, which might be not enough.

That's what i was trying to say, the limitation is there and finally you can't totally "browse by release category".

I think that the short search can be solved by implementing a page system, just like was done in the browse results. It wouldn't be too hard to do. I'll just have to check with Blah, to make sure there isn't some fundamental reason that we shouldn't do it.
Also, the search by rating is a neat idea, which prompted me to rewrite the rating code so that the ratings are stored in the album table. |

0.8.2
- Added a rudimentary content statistics page. - Added capability to put the no robots meta tag in the header - Marked a couple of error pages as no-robots. These are pages that googlebots have been obsessed with, to the detriment of real album indexing. |

0.8.3
- Extended length of game field - Added breaks to notes and title field in moderation panel - For reprints, ratings now come from the parent album - Game Animation changed to Game Animation & Film - Fixed some spacing issues on Album Display for cases where some title fields are blank |

Not a bug, but we could use more characters in the "Arranged by" field.

I get a warning when I go here:

Yeah, that occured because there are a few soundtracks that lost their scans in the move. I uploaded some new scans for Fes, fixing the error.
EDIT 0.8.4 - Fixed bug where editing an album whose month was unknown would set the month to January - Added color coding to album stat pages - Removed redbook/rip from album edit form |

0.8.5
- Fixed bug in collections when operating on folders - Fixed bug in display of pending moderation queue - Cleaned up some of the xhtml 1.0 markup errors on the front page, which now passes validation at http://validator.w3.org/ (Of course, we'll have to do this again with the new design, but it's a good exercise) |

0.8.6
- Fixed bug in submission of the 'undo' information for certain fields (game, tracklist, captions) with special characters (e.g. apostrophes) [Zhane] - Fixed a few display bugs in view recent scans, and pending tracklists/scans - Fixed up any xhtml markup errors on most guest-viewable pages. It looks like the beta is helping us shake down some bugs, so I'm pretty pleased with things, and I'm glad we had this stretch where we could concentrate on cleaning up, rather than writing new features. |

Not really a bug, but not big enough to deserve it's own thread...but would it be possible to add a simpler way to edit an already existing tracklist? Instead of each track title and duration getting its own box, maybe all of them in one single box like when adding a new tracklist? It makes it much easier to add track times to a tracklist.

Yeah, Seanne was asking about this too. I think there are advantages and disadvantages to either method, but I think that Blah has some interface ideas that will probably be better than any fix that I could come up with, so I'm going to wait on this one.

On the Most Commonly Collected Albums page in the statistics section, there's a blank line in between the Breath of Fire Original Soundtrack Special Box and Xenosaga Episode I.

I just fixed that. =p
It was an album that was deleted, probably because it was a duplicate. I removed the album from the 10 collections it was in, but I'm going to have to improve the delete function so that it really does clean up every reference in all of the tables. |
